Program objectives :
The third year of the dual Bachelor's degree (French and German) continues the work of the first two years. Students choose a specialization (Economics or Management) in semester 4, and will undertake their studies in that area in their third year. Students are on the campus of Goethe University in Frankfurt for both semesters in their third year, and courses are taught primarily in English and German.
The school year consists of two semesters, both of which take place on the campus of Goethe University in Frankfurt. Courses are taught primarily in English and German.
The first semester is 14 weeks long, and instruction predominantly takes the form of lectures with additional practical exercises. Students take 4 credits (UE) from the core curriculum and can choose from the courses offered by Goethe University. Available courses differ according to the student’s chosen specialization (economics or management) and must be approved by academic advisors in both Germany and France. Students are also required to take a seminar in economics or management, for which they will have to write a seminar thesis on a research topic designated by their instructor.
Student learning is primarily assessed by a final exam, but assessment methodologies may vary from one credit to the other.
After completing their degree, students may apply for a Master’s program at either Paris-Dauphine or Goethe University in a field related to their area of specialization in year 3.

The topic of the seminar is "European Integration: Franco-German Horizons". The European Union stands at one of the most important crossroads since the starting point of the integration process. One of the central questions is, if the structure of the so called narrowing union is adequate to solve the existing external and internal problems. The seminar wants to analyze the union's capacity to act in the global economic and financial structures as well as the existing concepts to solve institutional problems as the national debt crises. It wants to give an answer to the question, if intergovernmental structures in the union are efficient enough to solve these problems or if we have to expect a stronger orientation back to national organizational structures in the future.

The Bachelor thesis should demonstrate that students are able to independently work on a problem from a subject area of their degree program using scientific methods within a specified period of time.
Students enrolled in the Franco-German double degree can choose between two options for this thesis:
Skills to be acquired:
Assessment:
Academic research thesis : Successful completion of a thesis paper (100%)
Professional thesis : Successful completion of a thesis paper (50%) and a presentation (50%). Each partial examination needs to be passed with at least the grade 4,0. Students have to write a thesis paper based on a specific academic subject related to their professional activity. In addition, they must present their work orally and participate in a question and answer session with the jury.

The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills of econometric analysis. The material will cover simple and multiple regression analysis with cross sectional data. Basic time series models will be introduced at the end of the module. The considered methods and models will be accompanied by theoretical exercises and will be practiced on real economic data using modern econometric software (STATA). Individual work will be encouraged - selected exercises will be discussed in class. Provisional Outline
Skills to be acquired:
After successfully attending the course, students will be able to apply the knowledge to the investigation of economic relations and processes. They will develop a global understanding of econometric methods, used in most economic books and articles. In particular, students will understand essential differences between time series and cross sectional data, get to know the specific econometric problems met when working with such data, and learn methods to deal with these problems.
This course contributes to develop several skills in accordance to the global learning objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration :
Assessment:
Successful completion of a written exam of 90 minutes duration.
