Program objectives:
The goal of the European and International Business Law track is to train high-caliber legal professionals wishing to pursue a legal or judicial career in France or abroad and offers students an introduction to research while requiring them to conduct research. Students specialize progressively: in M1, they acquire theoretical and practical legal knowledge in the fields of international business law, as well as domestic private business law and taxation.
Students in this program continue their studies in Master’s Degree International and European Business Law - 240. They may also take a gap year between the end of 1st year of a Master's Degree and the start of 2nd year of a Master's Degree.
Students are encouraged to get involved in the university’s many associations and its strong alumni network.
A "Research" track is available, allowing students to continue into the second year of the Master’s program.
Classes begin: The first year of the Master’s is divided into two semesters from September to May.
Classes are held in small groups, either in French and English for the core curriculum, or entirely in English for the few students taking the English track.
The English Track in Law program enables law students to take law courses entirely in English for one semester / or one year. The courses are taught by Dauphine professors, as well as by guest professors for more specialized subjects. Two introductory courses are offered, on French law and French institutions, and on European law and European institutions. Other courses cover a variety of comparative, international and European topics.
There are three steps to the admissions process:
After the first year of the Master's, students can choose from several M2 programs, either in full-time study or work-study formats. Before entering an M2, they can take a gap year if their course allows, to gain professional experience in France or abroad: internships, fixed-term contracts, civic service, entrepreneurship, additional training, etc.
In the second year of the Master's, students choose a specialization to refine their area of expertise and professionalize. They will benefit from high-level courses taught by Dauphine faculty members and external speakers from the business world.
Finally, the university helps students prepare for entering the job market through various professional projects or internship programs. As a result, Dauphine's recent graduates enjoy a very high employment rate.
In the case of a research Master's, the second year will help students best prepare their research project, with a view toward pursuing a PhD afterward.
