Academic year 2026/2027

Notarial Law - 313 - Master's Year 2

ECTS credits : 60

Programme objectives

Program objectives:

The coursework in the Notarial Law program trains future upper-level notaries through a combination of classic notarial training and specific training in economics and management. The program was created by request of the Chambre des notaires de Paris in 2008 to respond to a specific professional need.

Teaching methods

The second year of the Master’s in Notarial Law comprises 370 hours of in-person classes, held between September and April. The programme combines core legal courses with practical training in economics and management, designed to prepare students and future notaries for their responsibilities as business managers. Additional hours are dedicated to examinations and assessments.

The Master’s programme can be completed either as a full-time programme, followed by a three-month internship in a notarial office starting in May, or as a work-study programme under a 12-month apprenticeship contract. In the work-study format, students spend two days per week at the University (Mondays and Tuesdays) and three days in a notarial office or in a related business sector.

The teaching team reflects the essential collaboration between academics and legal practitioners, including notaries, lawyers, judges and wealth management professionals. This collaboration is further strengthened through conferences, study days and academic seminars regularly organised as part of the programme, helping students develop a strong sense of belonging to their future profession.

Committed to fostering a strong class spirit, a long-standing tradition at Université Paris Dauphine–PSL, second-year Master’s students are actively involved in the particularly dynamic student association, ADN Dauphine. Students also regularly participate, individually or collectively, in competitions open to Master’s-level students, such as the Solon Legislative Drafting Competition, the Septeo Legal Drafting Competition, and the MEJI Award for the Best Real Estate Law Student.

Course content:

Skills to be acquired:
