Description du contenu de l'enseignement :
Acquire the various basic concepts and tools in inferential statistics used in management science with particular emphasis of the intuition of the concepts studied. Develop, through a variety of applications coming mainly from the field of management, the ability to interpret and analyze quantitative data from a sample drawn from the population of interest. Prepare the learning of econometrics.
Compétence à acquérir :
At the end of the course, students will have learned how to infer information about a statistical population from a sample by understanding the risks taken and margins of error.
Mode de contrôle des connaissances :
The final grade is the average of the continuous assessment grade (50%) and the final examination grade (50%).
The numerical distribution of marks will dictate the final grade. The course is validated from 7/20 if the student's other marks are sufficient.
Class attendance: Attendance is compulsory in TD (3 absences maximum, justified or not) and necessary to pass the exams for the lectures. Active class participation is what makes classes lively and instructive. Come on time and prepared. Class participation is based on the quality of feedback, not the quantity, and may result in an adjustment of the continuous assessment grade.
Exam Policy: In the exam, students will not be allowed to bring any document (except if allowed by the lecturer). Unexcused absences from exams or failure to submit cases will result in zero grades in the calculation of numerical averages.
Be aware of the rules in Université Paris Dauphine about plagiarism and cheating during exams. All work turned in for this course must be your own work, or that of your own group. Working as part of a group implies that you are an active participant and fully contributed to the output produced by that group.
