Advanced perspectives in organizational theories

ECTS : 6

Description du contenu de l'enseignement :

The course Advanced Perspectives in Organisation Theories aims at providing students with a deeper knowledge and understanding of OT and thus enabling them to develop a more sensitive reading of organisations, organisational phenomena, and discourses around them. The course also provides students with a first introduction to research in OT and to some of its current topics and issues.

The course presupposes an initial knowledge of organisational theories and the major themes often associated with them, such as rational approaches to organisational design, contingency theory, organizational culture, or some organisational internal processes such as organizational decision processes. No refreshers will be provided on basic notions other than those included in the introductory session.

In addition to knowledge related to the theory of organizations, this course enables students to develop a capacity for analysis of contemporary organizational phenomena that is sensitive to its underlying assumptions (particularly epistemological). Students will also be introduced to the reading of scientific articles.
