This module aims to provide students with a foundational knowledge of a broad range of concepts and theories related to the ‘economic theory of imperfect competition’ along with rigorous training in the mathematical and graphical techniques relevant in analysing the associated models.

Knowledge
Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to demonstrate: A solid understanding of a broad range of economic concepts and theories, including the determination of general and partial equilibrium and their efficiency properties, as well as the allocation of resources and efficiency outcomes in the presence of externalities and public goods.
Skills
Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Mathematically compute, graphically represent, and accurately interpret the results associated with the advanced economic concepts covered in the module.
- Reflect critically on their learning process, respond constructively to feedback, and adapt their approach effectively to new applications and contexts.
- Select, assess, and apply appropriate numerical methods, models, and analytical techniques to solve complex problems across a variety of economic settings.
