Description du contenu de l'enseignement :

The Bachelor thesis should demonstrate that students are able to independently work on a problem from a subject area of their degree program using scientific methods within a specified period of time.

Students enrolled in the Franco-German double degree can choose between two options for this thesis:

• an academic research paper, supervised by a professor at Goethe University (maximum 60 pages, excluding appendices)
• a professional thesis, based on a long-term professional experience (long internship or apprenticeship) (maximum 30 pages excluding appendices + oral defense before a binational jury)

Compétence à acquérir :

• Students have academic knowledge from different fields and can apply it in their professional practice. 
• They are able to adopt a scientific approach to applied research in order to write a thesis. 
• They have soft skills, in particular, in oral and written expression of their knowledge and ideas.

Mode de contrôle des connaissances :

Academic research thesis : Successful completion of a thesis paper (100%) 
Professional thesis : Successful completion of a thesis paper (50%) and a presentation (50%). Each partial examination needs to be passed with at least the grade 4,0. Students have to write a thesis paper based on a specific academic subject related to their professional activity. In addition, they must present their work orally and participate in a question and answer session with the jury.
