The long-term master's thesis is partly prepared during the course on research methodology, but most of the work is done under the supervision of a Professor of the team. 

The purpose of the Long term Master's thesis is, for the student: 

• to anchor an autonomy in learning
• to enhance his or her capacity for innovation
• to provide education through research
• to write an original piece of work, on contemporary questions

Compétence à acquérir :

The Long term Master's thesis is designed for the students who wish to pursue a career in research after the M2 104, for example by applying to the PhD program in Finance of the University PSL Paris Dauphine. 

Students are required to write a Master's thesis on an innovative topic, which enables them to gain true expertise on their subject. The long term master's thesis also gives the opportunity to meet a thesis director who might become the supervisor of the PhD thesis. 

Mode de contrôle des connaissances :

The thesis supervisor should receive the long-term master's thesis in the beginning of September. The defense of the thesis must occur before the 15th of September. When a student chooses the long terme master's thesis, there is no need, for them, to do an internship. There are however, a few possibilities to do a 2-months research internship in the research team DRM-Finance.
